Mary-Anne knew nothing of special education but fell into it by accident when she saw an advertisement that asked, “Would you like to be a special education teacher?” After meeting with a professor at the University of Oregon, she decided that she would indeed like to be a special education teacher. Since that time, Mary-Anne’s career has revolved around special education.
