KXL reported that Dallas School District “failed in a big way” in the case of a student who is deaf, blind, in a wheelchair, and needs help breathing. The family of the student, represented by Wiscarson Law, overwhelmingly won their case against the District. The case showed that the District failed to provide adequate care, failed to administer medication, failed to properly monitor oxygen, left the student in a dark room, and failed to educate the student. The State Office of Administrative Hearings ordered a number of remedies, including compensatory education for the student.
